HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1991-035-R-9135-R-91 A RESOLUTION Upon the Death of John T. Rudy, Jr. WHEREAS, John T. Rudy, Jr. departed this life on March 28, 1991; and • WHEREAS, John T. Rudy Jr. served as Alderman of the First Ward from April, 1985 until his death; and WHEREAS, during his tenure as Alderman he served as a member of the Human Services Committee, the Planning and Development Committee, the Police Services Committee, the City -School Liaison Committee, the Mayor's Special Committee on the Main Library, the City Manager Search:Committee'and as member and Chair of the City/Chamber Liaison Committee and as member and Chair of the Mayor's Special Committee on Parking; and WHEREAS, during his long residence in Evanston, he served as a trustee of the,United Methodist Church, where he headed the districtwide building committee, the youth committee and several other committees and served as a board member of Youth Organization Umbrella for seven years, and was later appointed a life member; and • WHEREAS, John T. Rudy, Jr. served the citizens of his ward, as well as the citizens of the entire City with distinction, giving most liberally of his time, energy and ability; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Evanston on behalf of itself, the Mayor, City Manager, City Officials and the residents of this community, expresses its heartfelt grief and sense of loss at the passing of its colleague and friend, John T. Rudy, Jr. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be made a part of the permanent records of the City of Evanston and that a copy, executed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk, be presented to the members of his bereaved family. z Mayor
