A RESOLUTION
Canvassing the Results of the Consolidated Election
held on April 2, 1991, and Declaring the
Results of Said Election
WHEREAS, on the Second day of April, 1991, a
consolidated election was held in and for the City of Evanston, Cook
County, Illinois, for the purpose of electing one Alderman for each Ward,
each to serve a full four (4) year term and to conduct an binding
referendum to determine if the City of Evanston shall restrict the number
of Aldermen to 1/2 of the total authorized by Section 5-2-2 of the
Illinois Municipal Code, with one Alderman representing each Ward.
WHEREAS, said consolidated election was regularly
called in the manner provided by law: and
WHEREAS, the official Canvassing Board consisting
of the Mayor, the City Clerk and the First Assistant Corporation Counsel
for the City of Evanston, find from the returns of said consolidated
election that the following votes were cast for the candidates and
binding referendum indicated:

TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, ILLINOIS:
The undersigned, having been duly notified by City Clerk Kirsten F. Davis, to canvass
the vote in the City election held at the Consolidated Election on April 2, 1991, for
the purpose of electing City officials for the City of Evanston, reports that it has
canvassed the vote with respect to said election and reports the results as follows:

The Canvassing Board submits the foregoing report as a complete return and canvass of
the results of the City Election of the City of Evanston held at the Consolidated
Election in the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois on Tuesday, April 2, 1991, and
recommends that said report, as submitted, be approved and made a part of the records of
the City Council of the City of Evanston.

SECTION 1: That by reason of said vote, the City Council
declares that the referendum to determine if the City of Evanston shall resrict the
number of aldermen to 1/2 of the total authorized by Section 5-2-2 of the Illinois
Muncipal Code, with one alderman representing each ward, passed.
•SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby made a permanent
part of the records of the City Council fo the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois.
