A RESOLUTION
Authorizing Acquisition and/or Condemnation of
910-926 Church Street
• WHEREAS, the City Council of the
considered the acquisition of the real
described in connection with a tax
redevelopment project; and
City of Evanston has
estate hereinafter
increment financing
WHEREAS, the City Council approved Resolution 63-R-89,
authorizing acquisition of 910-926 Church Street in November
1989; and
WHEREAS, the City Council restates its determination
that it is necessary to acquire said real estate for rede-
velopment purposes pursuant to the provisions of Section 11-
74.4-4 of Chapter 24 of the Illinois Revised Statutes; and
• WHEREAS, the acquisition of said real estate will be for
a public purpose in accordance with State Statute as herein -
above set forth; and
WHEREAS, the market value of the property herein
described is Six Hundred Fifteen Thousand and 00/100ths
Dollars ($615,000.00);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Evanston, Cook, County, Illinois:
SECTION 1: That it is necessary, required, desirable,
and for the best interests of the City of
• Evanston that the real property legally described as:
"Lots 7, 8, 9, 10, 11., and 12 in Dempster's Sub-
division of Block.66 in Village (now City) of
Evanston in South West 1/4 of Section 18, Town-
ship 41 North, Range 14 East of the Third
Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois."
and commonly known as 910-926 Church Street,
Evanston, Illinois,

which said property lies wholly within the boundaries of the
• City of Evanston, shall be acquired for redevelopment
purposes.
SECTION 2: That the City Manager of the City of
Evanston and/or his/her designee is hereby
authorized, empowered, and directed to negotiate for and on
behalf of the City of Evanston with the owner or owners of the
hereinabove described real property for the purchase thereof
by the City of Evanston.
SECTION 3: That, in the event that the City Manager
and/or his/her designee is unable to agree
with the owners of the real property hereinabove described as
to the compensation to be paid therefore, then the Corporation
• Counsel of the City of Evanston and/or the designee of the
City Manager is hereby authorized to institute condemnation
proceedings in the name of the City of Evanston for the
purpose of acquiring title to and possession of said real
property hereinabove described in accordance with the eminent
domain laws of the State of Illinois.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall take effect and be in
full force from and after its passage.
