A RESOLUTION
Canvassing the Results of the General Election
held on November 6, 1990, and Declaring the
Results of the Referendum
WHEREAS, on the Sixth day of November, 1990, a general
Oction was held in and for the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois, for the
purpose of conducting a Referendum to determine if the City of Evanston should impose a
surcharge of up to $0.75 cents per month per network connection, on monthly telephone
billing for telephone or telecommunications charges for the purpose of installing or
improving a 9-1-1 emergency system and upgrading existing public safety communications
systems; and
WHEREAS, said general election was regularly called in the
manner provided by law; and
WHEREAS, the official Canvassing Board consisting of the
Mayor, the City Clerk and the City Attorney for the City of Evanston, find from the
returns of said general election that the following votes were cast for the referendum
indicated:

REPORT OF CANVASSING BOARD
TO MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, ILLINOIS:
The undersigned, having been duly notified by City Clerk
Kirsten F. Davis, to canvass the vote in the General Election
held on November 6, 1990, for the purpose of conducting a
referendum to determine if the City of Evanston should impose a
surcharge of up to $0.75 cents per month per network
connection, on monthly telephone billing for telephone or
telecommunications charges for the purpose of installing or
improving a 9-1-1 emergency system and upgradingexisting
public safety communications systems, reports that it has
canvassed the vote with respect to said referendum and reports
the results as follows:

The Canvassing Board, therefore, finds that the referendum to determine
if the City of EVanston should impose a surcharge of up to $.075 cents per month per
network connection which surcharge would be added to the monthly bill for telephone or
telecommunications charges for the purpose of installing or improving a 9-1-1 emergency
system and upgrading existing public safety communications system, passed.
1 The Canvassing Board submits the foregoing report as a complete return
and canvass of the results of the votes cast in the General Election on November 6,
1990, on the referendum.

SECTION 1: That by reason of said vote, the City Council
declares that the referendum to determine if the City of Evanston should impose a
surcharge of up to $.75 cents per month per network connection, to be added to the
monthly bill received for telephone or telecommunications charges for the purpose of
installing or improving a 9-1-1 emergency system and upgrading existing public safety
communications system passed.
SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby made a permanent
Ot of the records of the City Council fo the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois.
