HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1990-038-R-906/7/90 38-R- 9 0 • A RESOLUTION Amending City Council Rule 21.1 Reconsideration NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Rule 21.1 of the City Council Rules be amended to read as follows: SECTION 1: Any vote to approve a purchase, contract, bond sale, zoning variation or special use, whether by motion, resolution or ordinance, or to confirm an appointment by the Mayor to a commission, board, or advisory body or to convene into a closed session, may be reconsidered but only at the same meeting at which said vote was taken, upon an affirmative vote of 2/3 of the Aldermen present. The vote taken on any other motion, resolution cr ordinance may be reconsidered but only at the next regular meeting after the meeting at which said vote was taken, upon the vote of the majority of the Aldermen present. A motion for reconsideration may be made as set forth herein only once.' A motion to reconsider must be made by an Alderman who voted on the prevailing side; however, when a motion, resolution, or ordinance fails to pass by reason of not having received a required extraordinary vote, a motion to reconsider may be made by any Alderman who was present and voted in the previous consideration.
