HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1988-063-R-8863-R-88 A RESOLUTION Upon the Death of Deborah Austin WHEREAS, Deborah Austin met an untimely death on 40 November 3, 1988; and WHEREAS, Deborah Austin was a lifelong resident of Evanston and a 1968 graduate of Evanston Township High School; and WHEREAS, Deborah Austin graduated from Lincoln University in 1973 and began working for the Evanston Recreation Department during summers while she was still a college student; and WHEREAS, Deborah Austin was hired as a Recreation Leader in 1974, and was promoted to Director of the Fleetwood-Jourdain Center in 1975, where she served with distinction. In 1978, she was named Supervisor of Playgrounds and Community Centers and then, in 1986, she assumed the responsibility of Sports Coordinator; and WHEREAS, Deborah Austin was actively involved in the Evanston community and served its citizens with dedication and distinction; and • WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston desires to pay tribute to Deborah Austin; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Evanston on behalf of itself, the Mayor, City Manager, City Officials and the residents of this community, expresses its `' heartfelt grief and sense of loss at the untimely death of Deborah Austin. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be made a part of the permanent records of the City of Evanston and that a copy, executed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk, be presented to the members of her bereaved family.
