A RESOLUTION
c A Resolution Authorizing the City Manager R
To Enter into a Lease For a Parking Lot
At 1850 Maple Avenue
WHEREAS, Northwestern University owns a parcel of land at 1850
Maple Avenue, and
WHEREAS, the parcel had been improved with a structure which has
been demolished; and
WHEREAS, the City Council approved Resolution 82-R-87: an Interim
Parking Plan for the Research Park; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 82-R-87, the City of Evanston,
Northwestern University and the Charles H. Shaw Co. have entered into a
Parking Agreement dated December 8, 1987 for an interim parking plan for
the Research Park; and
WHEREAS, the Parking Agreementallows the Developer to lease land
adjacent to any parcel of land on which the Developer is constructing any
building to satisfy zoning requirements for parking; and
• WHEREAS, the City of Evanston has determined that parking on the
1850 Maple Avenue site does meet the required zoning for parking for
Building No. 1 at 1890 Maple Avenue.

WHEREAS, Northwestern University has agreed to lease to the City
of Evanston the parcel at 1850 Maple Avenue for the Research Park for, a
term of.three(3)years at a rent of $1.00 per year to the City of Evanston;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Evanston intends to improve the property as
appropriate for use as a parking lot as provided in the Parking Agreement;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the best interest of the
City of Evanston and its residents will be served by the lease of this
parking lot by the City of Evanston.
