A RESOLUTION
Canvassing the Results of the General
• Election held on November 4, 1986, and Declaring
the Results of the Advisory Referendum
WHEREAS, on the Fourth day of November, 1986, a '
i
general election was held in and for the City of Evanston, Cook County, i
Illinois, for the purpose of conducting an Advisory Referendum to determine
if the City of Evanston should obtain an environmental impact statement j
before spending additional public funds on the Evanston/University Research
Park in downtown Evanston; and
WHEREAS, said general election was regularly
called in the manner provided by law; and

WHEREAS, the official Canvassing Boards consisting
of the Mayor, the City Clerk and the City Attorney for the City of Evanston
find from the returns of said general election that the following votes were
cast for the advisory referendum indicated:

REPORT OF CANVASSING BOARD
TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, ILLINOIS:
The undersigned, having been duly notified by City Clerk Kirsten F. Davis, to
canvass the vote in the General Election held on November 4, 1986, for the purpose
of conducting an advisory referendum to determine if the City of Evanston should
obtain an environmental impact statement before spending additional public funds on
the Evanston/University Research Park in downtown Evanston, reports that it has
canvassed the vote with respect to said referendum and reports the results as
follows:

The Canvassing Board, therefore, finds that the advisory referendum to
determine if the City of Evanston should obtain an environmental impact statement
before spending additional funds on the Evanston/University Research Park in
downtown Evanston, failed.
The Canvassing Board submits the foregoing report as.a complete return and
canvass of the results of the votes cast in the General Election on November 4,
1986, on the advisory referendum.

SECTION 1: That by reason of said vote, the City j
Council declares that the advisory referendum to determine if the City of
Evanston should obtain an environmental impact statement before spending
additional public funds on the Evanston/University Research Park in downtown,

Evanston failed.
SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby made a .j
j permanent part of the records of the City Council of the City of Evanston,
