A RESOLUTION
Authorizing the City Manager
to Contract for and Complete i

WHEREAS, the City Manager has heretofore been i

`authorized on behalf of the City of Evanston to negotiate the

purchase of certain real estate located at 1000 Emerson,
i
j� 1008-10 Emerson, 1011 University and 1013 University, Evanston,
Illinois, and legally described as follows:

Lot 1 in Block 1 in Circuit Court Sub. in part of Lot
Ij 22 being that triangular piece of land bounded on the
north by Emerson Street, on the S.W. by East Railroad
i; Avenue, and on the E. by Maple Avenue. (except 1 acre
in the west angle thereof) in County Clerk's Division
of unsubdivided lands in the NW 1/4, Section 18,
Township 41 North, Range 14.
Ij Lot 3 in Block 1 in Circuit Court Sub..in part of Lot
j� 22 being that triangular piece of land bounded on the
north by Emerson Street, on the S.W. by East Railroad
Avenue, and on the East by Maple Avenue. (except 1
acre in the West angle thereof) in County Clerk's
Division of unsubdivided lands in the NW 1/4, Section
j� 18, Township 41 North, Range 14.
Lot 22 and the east 10 feet of Lot 21 in Block 1 in
�j the Circuit Court subdivision in partition of Lot 22,
being the triangle piece of land bounded on the north
by Emerson Street, on the southwest by East Railroad
Avenue, and on the east by Maple Avenue, (except one
acre on the west angle thereof) in County Clerk's
j� Division of unsubdivided lands in the northwest 1/4
of Section 18, Township 41 North, Range 14 East of
the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County,
Illinois.
WHEREAS said property is contiguous to the
downtown business district and a valuable acquisition in the
!best interest of the City's economic development; and

WHEREAS, a real estate sales contract has been
i
inegotiated by the parties for the sale of 1000 Emerson, 100'8
jEmerson, loll University and 1013 University, for Three Hundred;
j
jEighty Thousand, Five Hundred Seventy Dollars ($380,570)
Oincluding purchase price and other associated expenses) with
an October 31, 1986 closing date;

I, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council ,
!of the City of Evanston that the City Manager be and hereby is
j;authorized and directed to enter into a contract for, negotiate
additional terms as necessary and desirable, and take title to I

r000Emerson,1008 Emerson, 1011 University and 1013 University
Emerson,
';in Evanston, Illinois, for Three Hundred Eighty Thousand, Five
Hundred Seventy Dollars ($380,570), which includes the purchase
price and other associated expenses.
This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the
manner provided by law.
