A RESOLUTION
Upon the Death of Bennie G. Rubin
WHEREAS, Bennie G. Rubin departed this life on August 25,
1986; and
WHEREAS, Bennie G. Rubin served as Alderman of the Fifth Ward
of the Gity of Evanston during the years 1935 through 1963, and as
Alderman at Large for the City of Evanston from 1963 to 1965; and
WHEREAS, during his long tenure as Alderman, he served as a
member or Chairman of Committees concerning Local Improvements, Parks,
Police, Public Utilities, Lighting, Fire, Zoning, Building, Water, and
Municipal Services; and
WHEREAS, Bennie G. Rubin was actively interested in Parks
matters throughout his service on the City Council and worked diligently
for almost 20 years to secure an appropriation to construct a shelter in
Mason Park; and
• WHEREAS, Bennie G. Rubin served the citizens of his Ward as
well as the citizens of the entire City with immense dedication, giving
most liberally of his time, energy and ability; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston desires to
pay tribute to Bennie G. Rubin;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Evanston, on behalf of itself, the Mayor, the City Manager, City
Officials, and the residents of this community, expresses it heartfelt
grief and sense of loss at the passing of Bennie G. Rubin.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be
prepared and presented .to the members.of his bereaved family.
