A RESOLUTION
Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into
an Easement Agreement with Commonwealth Edison
•
WHEREAS, the Commonwealth Edison Company has
requested an easement to construct, operate, maintain, renew,
relocate and remove from time to time wires, cables, conduits,
manholes, transformers, pedestals and other facilities used in
connection with underground transmission and distribution of
electricity, together with right of access to the same and the
right from time to time to trim or remove trees, bushes and
saplings and to clear obstructions from the surface and
subsurface as may reasonably be required incident to said
easement; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston
does find that there will be no detriment to the public use of
said property by the construction and maintenace of said
•transmission and distribution of electric lines;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL..OF

THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS that the City
Manager be and hereby is authorized to enter into an easement
agreement with Commonwealth Edison for and in consideration of
$1.00 to construct, operate, maintain, renew, relocate and
remove from time to time wires, cables, conduits, manholes,
transformers, pedestals and other facilities used in connection
with underground transmission and distribution of electricity,

ogether with right of access to the same and the right from
time to time to trim or remove trees, bushes and saplings and
to clear obstructions from the surface and subsurface as may
reasonably be required incident to said easement herein in the
following locations as set forth in Exhibit A and incorporated
herein by reference and as legally described:

Lots 5, 6, 7, and 8; those portions of Lots 2, 3, 4,
9 and 10 lying South of a line drawn from a point
44.16 feet East of the Northwest corner of Lot 10
southeasterly to a point 2.13 feet South of the
Northeast corner of Lot 4; and the vacated 20 foot j
alley lying South of said line, all in Block 8, in
Section 13, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of the
• Third Principal Meridian, in the City of Evanston,
County of Cook, State of Illinois (Above described
property is in the Northwest Quarter of Section 18,
Township 41 North, Range 14, East of the Third
Principal Meridian);
Commonly known as: 1800 Sherman Avenue, Evanston;
and to take those steps necessary for the facilitation of said
construction.

Easement as shown on the attached sketch marked Exhibit "A"•and made
part hereof, of the property of the Grantor's described as follows:
Lots 5, 6, 7, and 8; those portions of Lots 2, 3,
4, 9 and 10 lying South of a line drawn from a point
44.16 feet East of the Northwest corner of Lot 10
Southeasterly to a point 2:13 feet South of the
Northeast corner of Lot 4; and the vacated 20 foot
