HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1985-025-R-85• • 25-R-S5 A RESOLUTION Upon the Occasion of the Retirement of Mayor James C. Lytle WHEREAS, Mayor James C. Lytle has served as the Mayor of the City of Evanston since April 25, 1977; and WHEREAS, prior to election to the office of Mayor of the City of Evanston, Mayor Lytle served as Alderman of the Sixth Ward of the City of Evanston during the years 1973 to 1977, serving as member and/or Chair of the Administration and Public Works Committee, the Capital Improvements Committee, the Economic Development Committee; and. WHEREAS, prior to his election as Alderman, he served as a member of the Evanston Plan Commission; and WHEREAS, during his tenure as Mayor he served as Chair and/or member of many regional boards and commissions, including the Cook County Council of Government, the North Shore Council of Mayors, the Northwest Municipal Conference, and the Oversight Committee of the Private Industry Council of the Northwest Municipal Conference; and WHEREAS, 1,1ayor Lytle served on national and state conLmittees including the U.S. Conference of Mayors Housing Committee and Governor Thompson's Advisory Committee on block grants; and WHEREAS, during his tenure as Mayor, the City of Evanston has made substantial progress in many areas, including but not limited to, capital improvements, economic development, j I University relations, housing development and rehabilitation, cultural and arts expansion, and fiscal responsibility as acknowledged by the City's consistent AAA bond rating; and WHEREAS, during his tenure as Mayor of the City of i Evanston, James C. Lytle has served the citizens of the City of 25-R-85 Evanston with distinction, giving most liberally of his time, energy and ability; li �I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council • of the City of Evanston on behalf of itself, the City Manager, City officials, and the residents of his community, do hereby f express great appreciation to Mayor James C. Lytle for his I service to the City of Evanston and regret the occasion of his ii voluntary retirement as Mayor of the City of Evanston. it BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT this Resolution be made a I� part of the permanent records of the City of Evanston and that I ( } a copy, executed by the Mayor_ and attested by the City Clerk, I be sent to the said Mayor James C.
