A RESOLUTION
Authorizing Acquisition of
Certain Real Estate
.WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston has considered
the acquisition of real estate hereinafter described in connection with a tax
increment financing redevelopment project; and

WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is necessary to
acquire said real estate for redevelopment purposes pursuant to the provisions
of Section 11-74.4-4 of Chapter 24 of the Illinois Revised Statutes; and
WHEREAS, the acquisi.tion of said real estate will be for a public :
purpose in accordance with state statute as hereinabove set forth; and
WHEREAS, the market value of the properties hereinabove described
is Four Hundred Eighty-five.Thousand and no/100 Dollars ($485,000.00);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
• Evanston, Cook County, Illinois:
SECTION 1: That it is necessary, required, desirable and for the
best interests of the City of Evanston that the real

which said property lies wholly within the boupdaries of the City
of Evanston, shall be acquired:.for redevelopment purposes.
SECTION 2: That the City Manager of the City of Evanston be and he
is hereby authorized, empowered and directed to
• negotiate for and on behalf of the City of Evanston with the owner or owners
of the hereinabove described real property for the purchase thereof by the
City of Evanston.
SECTION 3: That in the event that the City Manager is unable to
agree with the owners of the real property hereinabove
described as to the compensation to be paid therefor, then the Corporation
Counsel of the City of Evanston be and he is hereby authorized to institute
condemnation proceedings in the name of the City of Evanston for the purpose .
of acquiring title to and possession of said real property hereinabove
described in accordance with the eminent domain laws of the State of Illinois.
ATTEST:
SECTION 4: This resolution shall take effect and be in full force
from and after its passage.
