HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1985-019-R-853/25/ 6,. • 19-R-85 A RESOLUTION Authorizing Acquisition of Certain Real Estate .WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston has considered the acquisition of real estate hereinafter described in connection with a tax increment financing redevelopment project; and 1 WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is necessary to acquire said real estate for redevelopment purposes pursuant to the provisions of Section 11-74.4-4 of Chapter 24 of the Illinois Revised Statutes; and WHEREAS, the acquisi.tion of said real estate will be for a public : purpose in accordance with state statute as hereinabove set forth; and WHEREAS, the market value of the properties hereinabove described is Four Hundred Eighty-five.Thousand and no/100 Dollars ($485,000.00); NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of • Evanston, Cook County, Illinois: SECTION 1: That it is necessary, required, desirable and for the best interests of the City of Evanston that the real property legally described as: I' Parcel 1 East 35 feet of Lot 20 in Circuit Court Sub. of part of Lot 22 in i County Clerk's Division in Section 18 Township41 North Range � 9 14 East of the Third Principal Meridian and commonly known as 1021 University Place, Evanston, Illinois, Parcel 2 i The East 20 feet of Lot 19 and the West 15 feet of Lot 20 in Circuit Court Sub. of part of Lot 22 in County Clerk's Division in Section 18, Township 41 North, Range 14, East of the Third Principal Meridian ,and commonly known as 1023 University Place, Evanston, Illinois, Parcel 3 • Lot 18 and the West 30 feet of Lot 19 in Circuit Court Sub. of part of Lot 22 in County Clerk's Division in Section 18, Township 41 North, Range .14, East of the Third Principal. SECTION 2: That the City Manager of the City of Evanston be and he is hereby authorized, empowered and directed to • negotiate for and on behalf of the City of Evanston with the owner or owners of the hereinabove described real property for the purchase thereof by the City of Evanston. SECTION 3: That in the event that the City Manager is unable to agree with the owners of the real property hereinabove described as to the compensation to be paid therefor, then the Corporation Counsel of the City of Evanston be and he is hereby authorized to institute condemnation proceedings in the name of the City of Evanston for the purpose . of acquiring title to and possession of said real property hereinabove described in accordance with the eminent domain laws of the State of Illinois.
