HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1984-077-R-84i 'I I I 77-R-84 i A RESOLUTION Calling for a Public Hearing to Consider Designation of a Redevelopment Project Area • or Redevelopment Plan and Redevelopment Project • WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston is considering the designation of a redevelopment project area and the approval of a redevelopment plan and redevelopment project within the corporate limits of the City of Evanston, pursuant to the "Real Property Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act"; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 11-74.4-5 of Chapter 24 of the Illinois Revised Statutes•, it is necessary that prior to the adoption of an ordinance proposing the designation of a redevelopment project area or approval of a redevelopment plan or redevelopment project the municipality shall fix a time and place for public hearing; and i WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of i Evanston to conduct such public hearing; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of i Evanston, Cook County, Illinois: SECTION 1: That pursuant to the provisions of the "Real Property Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act", the City Council hereby fixes the date of November 26, 1984 at the hour of 9:00 p.m. at the Evanston Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Avenue, Evanston, Illinois, for the purpose of conducting a public hearing to consider the adoption of an ordinance proposing a redevelopment project area, a redevelopment plan and a redevelopment project for the area legally described as: A tract of land consisting of Lots and Blocks or parts thereof and streets and alleys of Blocks 1, 2 and 3 in the West part of the N.W. ; of Section 14, Blocks 6, 7, 8 and 18 in the East part N.W. i of Section 14, and Block 66 in the East part of the S.W. 1-4 of Section 14, all in the Village of Evanston, Section 14, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of the Third Principal Meridian, in the City of Evanston, County of Cook, State of Illinois and bounded as follows: • 0 Beginning at a point at the intersection of the center line of Church Street and the East line of Benson Avenue, thence, North along the East line of Benson Avenue to the South line of Clark Street, thence, Ease along the South line of Clark Street to the East line of Sherman Avenue, thence, North along the East line of Sherman Avenue to the North line of Elgin Road, thence, Northwesterly along the North line of Elgin Road to the North line of Emerson Street, thence, West along the North line of Emerson Street to the East line of Ridge Avenue,. thence, South along the East line of Ridge Avenue to the West line of the Chicago and North Western Railroad right-of-way, thence Southeasterly along said West right- of-way line to the South line of Davis Street, thence, East along the South line of Davis Street to the East line of Benson Avenue, thence, North along the East line of Benson Avenue to the center line of Church Street, said point being the point of beginning. That a copy of the proposed designation and redevelopment plan and redevelop- ment project is on file in the office of the City Clerk and is available for public inspection during regular business hours. SECTION 2: That at the public hearing any interested person or affected taxing district may file with the City Clerk written objections to and may be heard orally in respect to any issues embodied in the Notices of Public Hearing. SECTION 3: The Notice of Public Hearing shall be given by publication and mailing as required by law and shall be substantially in the form attached hereto and made part of thus resolution as Exhibit A.
