HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1984-010-R-841/5/84 10- x-84 A RESOLUTION Approving Method of IMRF Payments • During City Employee's Leave of Absence WHEREAS, William Sales, a City of Evanston employee in the Forestry Department, has been granted an unpaid temporary leave of absence from January 4, 1984 to April 3, 1984, to assume a temporary appointment with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees; and WHEREAS, City Council approval is statutorily required so that William Sales can retain certain disability, death and retirement benefits to which he is currently entitled under the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund • (IMRF) System; and WHEREAS, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) on William Sales'behalf.has agreed to pay all costs which would be incurred by the City for maintaining said benefits during said employee's leave of absence, according to terms and including amounts set • forth in Ch. 1082 §7-139(a)4C, Illinois Revised Statutes 1981; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois, that all costs incurred by the City of Evanston during William Sales' leave of absence on account of his participation in IMRF, amounting to $555.72, shall be paid by AFSCME; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that William Sales' contribution to the IMRF shall be computed upon the assumption earnings continued during the period of leave at the rate in effect when the leave commences.
