A RESOLUTION
Approving the Amended 1983 Emergency Jobs Bill
Program and Authorizing the Allocation
of Additional 1983 Funds
WHEREAS, the Evanston City Council with the passage of Resolution
51-R-83 did approve an application for Special Community Development Block
Grant funds under the 1983 Emergency Jobs Bill and did direct the City
Manager to file said application with the United States Department of Housing
and Urban Development; and
WHEREAS, the City of Evanston's application was approved by said
United States Department in August of 1983; and
WHEREAS, the City of Evanston has been awarded additional Jobs Bill
• funding in the amount of $17,304 from said United States Department, to be
made available around January 1, 1984; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to allocate these additional funds within
the 1983 Emergency Jobs Bill program in order to provide more employment
opportunities among Evanston residents and to address an urgent need in the
community; and•.
'WHEREAS, the allocation of said funds would require that the 1983
Emergency Jobs Bill program be revised; and
WHEREAS, the Housing and Community Development Act Committee did
conduct public meetings on October 25 and November 1, 1983 to hear public
opinion on said allocations according to the Community Development Citizen
Participation Plan;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of.
Evanston, Cook County, Illinois hereby approves the attached amended program
for Emergency Jobs Bill grant funds and directs that this amended program be
filed on its behalf.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager of the
City of Evanston is hereby authorized to transmit the contents of said program
in the form prescribed by said United States Department and to provide said
Department with revisions or additional information as may be required
concerning the City of Evanston program.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Evanston City Council
in amending its 1983 Emergency Jobs Bill program, hereby authorizes the
following allocation:
EMERGENCY JOBS BILL
SPECIAL ENTITLEMENT GRANT - 1983
$2,980 to 1983 Resource Development Investment Group (Rehab of
.909 Foster Street building -ACORN). New budget: $32,980.
$14,324 to 1983 Commercial Area Clean-up Program.
New budget: $39,324
