HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1983-051-R-83Y I' S1-R-83 i �i A RESOLUTION �!! i; Approving the Special Community Development Block Grant Program under the 1983 Emergency Jobs Bill -i I' WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States did pass the Emergency i� Expenditures to meet National Needs Act (commonly referred to as the 1983 iEmergency Jobs Bill) which is known as Public Law 98-8; and WHEREAS, said Act makes available a special one time allocation l� f I for the Community Development Block Grant Program under the Housing and 1 i }Community Development Act of 1974 as amended; and i WHEREAS, the City of Evanston is an "entitlement community" by 'definition under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of J 974 as amended, and as such, is eligible for such funds; and • !I I WHEREAS, the Housing and Community Development Act Committee :consisting of alder persons and citizen members has drafted a program for 'the City of Evanston; and I WHEREAS, this Committee met and conducted a public hearing on -May 10, 1983 to receive input on community development and housing needs I 'within the City and to receive proposals for funding under the program; and i� i WHEREAS, having completed its recommended program for funding, this Committee now submits said program tot 'he entire City Council for its ?review and approval; I 1; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City ,of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois, hereby approves the attached program for Community Development Block Grant funds under Title I of the Housing and :Community Development Act of 1974, as made available by the 1983 Emergency ;Jobs Bill, and directs that this program be filed on its behalf. it �I • • 51-R-83 i 1; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager of the.City of Evanston i its hereby designated the authorized representative of the City of Evanston to I' ;act in.connection with the program and all additional documentation and re- i visions as required to obtain funds under the special allocation to the Housing i and Community Development Act of 1974. { �!
