A RESOLUTION
Approving the. Amended 1983
Community Development Program
For Funds Under Title I of
• the Housing and Community Development Act of
�@ 1974 as Amended
WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States did pass the Housing and
community Development Act of 1974, which is known as Public Law 93-383; and
WHEREAS, Title I of the Act makes block grants available for certain
lousing and community development activities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Evanston is an "entitlement city" by definition
)f said Act, and as such, is eligible for such funds; and
WHEREAS, the Housing and Community Development Act Committee consist-
ing of alderpersons and citizen members has been formed to draft a program for
the City of Evanston; and
WHEREAS, this Committee met on numerous occasions, conducted three
(3) public hearings and completed its recommendations for the 1983 Community
Development Program; and
WHEREAS, the Evanston City Council with.the passage of City Resolu-
tion 62-R-82 did approve said program; and

WHEREAS, certain amendments have.subsequently been made to said
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of

County, Illinois,
hereby approves the attached
amended program
for Community
Development Block
grant funds under Title I of
the Housing and
Community Development Act of 1974 and directs that this amended program be
filed on its behalf.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager of the City of Evanston
{ is hereby designated the authorized representative of the City of Evanston to

act in connection with the program and all additional documentation and revisions
as may be required to obtain funds under the Housing and Community Development
.Act of 1974.
BE.IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager of the City of Evanston
s. hereby authorized to transmit the contents of said program in the form pre-
cribed by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development and to
rovide said Department with revisions or additional information as may be re-
uired concerning the City of_Evanston's program.
