WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States did pass the Housing and i jiY P Communit Development Act of 1974, which is known as Public Law 93-383;.and is I� WHEREAS, Title I of the Act makes block grants available for certain housing and community development activities; and li I WHEREAS, the City of Evanston is an "entitlement City" by definition ' .iof said Act, and as such, is eligible for such funds; and �i WHEREAS, the Housing and Community Development Act consisting of ,alderpersons and citizen members has been formed to draft a program for the City; I ,of Evanston; and f i WHEREAS, this Committee has met on numerous occasions, conducted i:three (3) Public Hearings on July 13, 1982, October 5, 1982 and December 7, 1982I Ls now completed its recommended program for funding; and i II i� !; WHEREAS, said program has been submitted -to the entire City Council `for its review and approval; I I (j + NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of i� Evanston, Cook County, Illinois, hereby approves the attached program for Com- !!munity i Development Block Grant funds under Title I of the Housing and Community lI 'Development Act of 1974 and directs that this program be filed on its.behalf. l �i II ii li !t t i t 62-R-82 j 11/24/82 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager of the City of Evanston] I dis hereby designated the authorized representative of the City of Evanston to ' • ],act in connection with the program and all additional documentation and re - 'visions as may be'required to obtain funds under the Housing and Community ',Development Act of 1974.
