�{ A RESOLUTION
1! Assuming Responsibility For
Temporary Closing of Sheridan
Road (Footrace)
WHEREAS, the Kiwanis Club of Evanston of the City of Evanston
I

desires to hold their footrace on Sheridan Road on Sunday, May 23, 1982,

j at 8:00 A.M.; and
WHEREAS, said footrace will require the closing of Sheridan Road
is
either partially or completely between Central Street and Greenwood Street;
and

WHEREAS, the State of Illinois requires the City to assume all
ij responsibility and liability involved in the closing of said highway.
i
• NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS that said City will assume full
!i responsibility for the direction, protection and regulation of traffic
j
during the time the detour is in effect, and all liabilities for damages
of any kind occasioned by the closing of said State Route as to claims
made upon the State of Illinois.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that efficient, all weather detours will
I
be maintained, conspicuously marked and judiciously police patrolled for
the benefit of traffic deviated from the State Route.
