HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1981-060-R-81• • 11/6/81 12/16/81 A RESOLUTION Authorizing the City Manager to Enter Into A Five Year Lease of Certain Parking Spaces to Mikdosh El Hagro of 303 Dodge in Lot 36 WHEREAS, the City.of Evanton is the owner of property known as parking lot 36 as herein after legally described which property con- tains twenty-four parking spaces, nineteen of which ha.ve been leased for private off-street parking facilities to Mikdosh El Hagro; and 'j WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston finds that use of a portion of said property as a public off-street parking facility i �I is not necessary, appropriate, required for the use of, .profitable to, or !i in the best interest of the City of'Evanston; and ii WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Ordinance provides that part or lj all of the required parking spaces for a given property may be leased ;III from the City for the anticipated life of the building provided teat the spaces are located not more than 500 feet from the lot requiring said I� I parking and are not located in a more restrictive zoning district than I; the building and uses they are to serve; and Ij WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the lease term as stated (� in exhibit A (a copy of the proposed lease) is not greater than five (5). years which is less than the anticipated life of the building; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that Lot 36 is within 500 feet I� of 303 Dodge and is in -the same zoning district as Congregation Mikdosh El Hagro, at that address; and I WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council it is in the best interest of the City to renew said lease to parties who will utilize said property to the best advantage. • • • - S NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COQNQIL .OF THE CITY OF EV,,ANSTUN, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS- SECTION 1: That the City Manager be and is hereby authorized and directed to negotiate and enter into a five-year lease with Mikdosh E1 Hagro for nineteen parking spaces in Lot 36 on real estate legally described as: The North 100 feet, except the North 20 feet -thereof taken from the public street, of the West 150 feet, except the West 40 feet therefrom taken for public street, of the North 9-3/8 acres of the S tl t t f th N th t ou ewes quar er o e or eas quarter of Section 25, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois on an availability basis among the total of twenty-four spaces at the current annual rental of.One Thousand One .Hundred Forty Dollars ($1,140) per year, subject to increase as set forth in the Rider to the lease and with other conditions to be set by him consistent with these terms. SECTION 2: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, and approval. or ATTEST: Adopted: -2-
