A RESOLUTION
Assuming Responsibility For
Temporary Closing of Sheridan
Road (Footrace)
WHEREAS, the Washington National Insurance Company of the City
of Evanston desires to hold their footrace on Sheridan Road on Sunday
September 20, 1981 at 8:00 a.m.; and
WHEREAS, said parade will require the closing of Sheridan Road
either partially or completely between Central Street and Greenwood Street;
and
. WHEREAS, the State of Illinois requires the City to assume all
responsibility and liability involved in the closing of said highway.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS that said City will assume full
responsibility for the direction, protection and regulation of traffic
during the time the detour is in effect, and all liabilities for damages
of any kind occasioned by the closing of said State Route as to claims
made upon the State of Illinois.
BE,IT FURTHER RESOLVED that efficient, all weather detours will
be maintained, conspicuously marked and judiciously police patrolled for �
the benefit of traffic deviated from the'State Route.
