Commending William L. Parks
�I For Services Provided Through
the Evanston Community Defender Office

WHEREAS, William L. Parks has been the Director and Chief
Attorney of the Evanston Community Defender Office for'the past eight years;
and
i�
WHEREAS, William L. Parks has resigned from this position to
enter the private practice of law; and
i'
WHEREAS, William L. Parks has unselfishly and professionally
�i
provided legal assistance to hundreds of Evanston residents unable to afford
private counsel; and
i
WHEREAS, William L. Parks has not only provided competent services
4i
to his clients, but also has expanded services to the community through the
!
establishment of social services, incorporation of pro bono attorney
•
i
!
!;
services and service participation by students of local social work and
law schools; and
II
WHEREAS, William L. Parks has always been sensitive to the needs
I
of his clients and the community, and has given most liberally of his time, I
I
energy and abilities; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of
I
Evanston to commend William L. Parks;
i
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Evanston does hereby express profound appreciation to William.L. Parks and i
commends him for his eight years of service rendered to the citizens of
. I
Evanston. as Director and Chief Attorney of the Evanston -Community Defender
!
Office; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of i
i
Evanston does hereby extend its good wishes to William L. Parks in his
i
private practice of law; and
