HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1981-040-R-81SA RESOLUTION On the Occasion of the Death of THOMAS G. MURDOUGH WHEREAS, THOMAS G. MURDOUGH died on May 9, 1981; and WHEREAS, THOMAS G. MURDOUGH was a prominent member of the Evanston community who gave unselfishly of himself to many civic, charitable, and economic enterprises which benefitted the residents of the City of Evans- ton; and WHEREAS, THOMAS G. MURDOUGH was an Alderman of the Sixth Ward of the City of Evanston during the years 1953 to 1957 serving with distinc- tion on various committees of the City Council; and WHEREAS, THOMAS G. MURDOUGH also served the Evanston community in the capacity of Board Member of the Evanston Y.M.C.A., the First Presby- terian Church, the Presbyterian Home, and the King Home; and WHEREAS, the citizens of Evanston deeply appreciate his interest ® in serving the citizens of his Ward as well as the citizens of the entire City, giving most liberally of his time, energy, and abilities; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of Evanston to pay tribute to THOMAS G. MURDOUGH: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, ILLINOIS, on behalf of itself, the Mayor, City officials, and the residents of this community, does hereby express profound regret upon the occasion of the death of THOMAS G. MURDOUGH and tenders to the bereaved members of his family its heartfelt sympathy; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be made a part of the permanent records of the City and that a suitable copy thereof be sent to the members of his bereaved family.
