i A RESOLUTION
Authorizing the City Manager to Release Rights
under 1924 Resolution and to Accept
F a Quitclaim Deed of a Portion of Foster Field
WHEREAS, on July 1, 191-4 the City Council of the City of Evanston
S
did by resolution accept from the Trustees of Schools of Township 41 North,
Range 13, East of the Third Principal Meridian, a deed granting and surrend-
ering -to the City of Evanston for recreation, school and educational purposes
"full charge, control and supervision of said premises (the property commonly

known as "Foster Field" and legally described in Exhibit "A" hereto) at all

's? hours of the day and night when the public schools of said District are not
in session, but reserving to the children attending Foster School in said
District, free, direct, easy and unobstructed access to said premises at all
times for playground purposes; and
{ WHEREAS, in 1955, the City of Evanston did cause the building known
as "Foster Field Community House" to be constructed on a portion of said
Foster Field; and
j� WHEREAS, it is necessary, convenient, appropriate and in the best
interest of the City to use and occupy at all times and improve that portion

of the above referenced Foster Field upon which the Foster Field Community

House is located together with sufficient land to maintain said building in
j conformance with the City of Evanston Zoning Ordinance (and legally described

!? in Exhibit "B" hereto) without reservation of rights to the children attending
Foster, School as aforesaid; and further it is necessary, convenient, appro-
priate and in the best interest of the City that said land as described in
Exhibit B be conveyed to the City; and

11 WHEREAS, the .City Council of the City of Evanston has further de-

i termined that the interests of the City of Evanston make it unnecessary, un-
suitable and inconvenient to continue its existing interest in a portion of
the remaining property known as Foster Field (legally described in Exhibit
"C" hereto), and that it is in the best interests of the City of Evanston
f� to release the said July 1, 1924 resolution as well as Board Ai' Edgc4tiot,
jI of District 75 Resolution dated May 20, 1924 and Trustees of Schools, of Town
• ship 41 North, Range 14 East of the Third Principal Meridian Resolution dated

June 16, and June 17, 1924-as it pertains to said land (exhibit G).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON that the City Manager be and hereby is authorized and directed to

accept a quitclaim deed of Building Parcel and to release such rights of the
City of Evanston under City of Evanston Resolution enacted July 1, 1924 as
are necessary.'

to Evanton, north west quarter of the north east quarter in

The West 229.48 feet of the following described property, taken
as a single tract: Vacated lots 7 to 12 and 13 to 18, all in-
clusive, and vacated alley lying between said lots, in vacated
Block 1 in McNeill's addition to Evanston, in the NW 1/4 of the
NE 1/4 of Section 13., Township 41 North, Range 13, Rast of the
Third Principal Meridian (except therefrom the West 37.48 feet
of;vacated Lots i5, 16, 17 and 18), in Cook County, Illinois.
