HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1980-065-R-80J 9/19/80 9/22/80 N-6158M.Ort A RESOLUTION Upon the Occasion of • the Retirement of Alderman Frank K. Hoover WHEREAS, Alderman Frank K. Hoover has served as Alderman of the Third Ward of the City of Evanston during the years 1957 through 1962 and of the First Ward from 1965 to 1980, serving with Mayors John Kimbark, John Emery, Peter Jans, Edgar Vanneman and James Lytle; and WHEREAS, during this tenure as Alderman he has served as Chairman and member of every Standing Committee of the City Council of the City of Evanston, including the former Municipal Services Committee, the Administra- tion and Public Works Committee, the Human Services Committee, the Planning and Development Committee and the Committee on Committees as well as Chairman or member of numerous Special Council Committees including the City -Chamber • Liaison Committee, the Economic Development Committee, the City -School Liaison Committee, the Street Lighting Committee, the Transportation Committee, the Unified Budgeting Panel, the Parking Committee, and the Police Services Committee; and WHEREAS, he has further served the community through his member- ship and participation on various boards, including the First Park District Board, the Evanston Hospital Board, the YMCA Board and the Kendall College Board, and on numerous Special Committees and Task Forces, including the Northwestern University Advisory Committee, the Special Task Force on Housing Quality, the Tennis Study Committee and the Special Committee to Study Coastal Zone Management Program, and on certain advisory boards and commissions such as the Plan Commission and the Ladd Arboretum Committee, and also on the Municipal Electoral Board; and • • WHEREAS, Alderman Frank K. Hoover has served the citizens of each of his Wards, as well as the citizens of the entire City with dis- tinction, giving most liberally of his time, energy and ability; • NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Evanston on behalf of itself, the Mayor, City Manager, City Officials, and the residents of this Community, do hereby express great appreciation to Alderman Frank K. Hoover for his more than twenty years of service to the City of Evanston, and regret the occasion of his voluntary retirement as Alderman. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be made a part of the permanent records of the City of Evanston and that a copy, executed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk, be sent to the said Alderman Frank K.
