HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1980-044-R-80• 6/5/80 44-R-80 A RESOLUTION To Effectuate Evanston Community Development Block Grant Objectives W'-EREAS, the Evanston City Council, with the passage of .Resolution.17-R-80, did approve an application for Community Development Block Grant Entitlement Funds and did direct the City Manager to file said application with the United States De- partment of Housing and Urban Development; and WHEREAS, the said application was approved on June 25, 1980 by said United States Department for an amount of Two Million Three Hundred Forty -Nine Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,349,500); and • WHEREAS, said application contains a one (1) year Community Develop- ment Program which budgets the City's entitlement grant funds for the following activities: 1. acquisition of Real Property 2. Public Facilities & Improvements Improvements to Adam Perry, Gilbert Park, and Foster Center; Chicago/Main Parking; Street Improvements for the Church/Dodge and Main/Ridgeville Neighborhood Strategy Areas; Improvements to the Chicago/ Dempster Business Area, Custer/Callan Business Area and Church/Dodge Business Area. 3. Clearance Activities 4. Public Services Provided by a housing counselor and the Community Defender's Office 5. Relocation Payments and Assistance 6. Rehabilitation Single family and multi -family rehab loans distributed by the Evanston Re- habilitation Board; Conservation Grants; -Aeatherization Program; Urban Ark Pro- gram by Evanston Environmental Associa- tion; Rehabilitation of Daycare Center by Evanston Committee for Coordinated Child Care; Rehabilitation for Accessibility of the Handicapped for Evanston Family Counseling. $ 30,000.00 $ 763,500.00 $ 10,000.00 $ 129,365.00 10,000.00 890,754.00 tl 44-R-80 7. Special Activities by Not -For -Profit Corporations $ 274,000.00 Block rehabilitation program and corporate administration by Evanston Community Development Corporation; Neighborhood Planner by the Evanston Latinamerican Association 9. General Administration $ 150,500.00 10. Unspecified Local Option $ 74,131.00 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Evanston hereby authorize the City Manager to submit any additional documents necessary to said Department and to take the necessary actions and to enter in- to the necessary agreements in order to implement the aforementioned 1980-81 Community Development Block Grant Program. • BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Evanston does hereby authorize the City Manager to reallocate unutilized funds from and among the various activities or to use unspecified local option where such reallocation will further the Community Development goals, priorities, or per- formance.
