C E 4r � I REPORT OF CANVASSING COMMITTEE TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, ILLINOIS The undersigned, having been duly appointed at the regular meeting of the City Council held February 23, 1970, to canvass the vote in the Special Election held February 24, 1970 for the purpose of electing an Alderman for the Fifth Ward for the unexpired term of Alderman Eugene Beck, Deceased, reports that it has canvassed the vote with respect to said election and-weports the results as follows: PRECINCTS 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th loth llth 12th TOTAL Total Applications 89 150 94 194 183 173 89 85 119 70 44 128 1423 FOR ALDERMAN: Roosevelt M. Alexander, having received the highest number of votes cast, is duly and legally elected to the office of Alderman of the Fifth Ward to fill a vacancy created by the death of Eugene Beck. The Canvassing Committee submits the foregoing report as a complete return and canvass of the results of the Special Election held in the Fifth Ward of the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois, on Tuesday, February 24, 1970, and recommends that said report, as submitted, be approved and made a part of the records of this Council.
