HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 184-R-26 (1) (1) 08/24/2026 184-R-26 A RESOLUTION Approving the JRC High Holiday Shofar Walk Event Contingent Upon Compliance of all Requirements as Set Forth by the Special Event Policy & Guidelines WHEREAS, the City of Evanston allows special events on City owned property each year; and WHEREAS, Outdoor events requested on City property, including streets, sidewalks, parks, and/or those that are deemed to significantly impact the City are considered special events and therefore require City approval; and WHEREAS, Special events that require City Council approval include lakefront park events of 150 participants or more; non-lakefront park events of 250 participants or more; and non-park events with 250 participants or more requiring a street closure (with the exception of block parties); and WHEREAS, the Evanston City Council believes it is in the best interests of the citizens of Evanston to allow for the High Holiday Shofar Walk Special Event to be approved contingent on compliance with all requirements as set forth by the Special Event Policy and Guidelines, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: The City Council approves the High Holiday Shofar Walk special event on September 11, 2026, subject to compliance with all requirements as set forth by the Special Event Policy and Guidelines; and Page 1 of 2 184-R-26 SECTION 2: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law. _______________________________ Daniel Biss, Mayor Attest: ______________________________ Stephanie Mendoza, City Clerk Adopted: _________________, 2026 Approved as to form: ______________________________ Alexandra B.
