A RESOLUTION
Authorizing the City Manager to
Execute an Agreement with Climate Action Evanston for the Climate
Action Coaches Program
WHEREAS, the 2024 Sustainability & Resilience Action Agenda recommended
the creation of a Climate Ambassador Program, now called the Climate Action Coaches
program; and
WHEREAS, Climate Action Evanston, an organization with an extensive history of
community engagement on climate initiatives and current partnerships with the City on
implementing the Climate Action & Resilience Plan, has the relevant expertise and
resources to further this initiative; and
WHEREAS, Climate Action Evanston successfully piloted the Climate Action
Coaches program between December 2024-March 2026, engaging 722 people across
60 events on topics of energy efficiency, community solar and city programs; and
WHEREAS, both the City and Climate Action Evanston desire to expand
community engagement on our community's climate action and resilience efforts ; and
WHEREAS, the Evanston City Council believes entering into an Agreement with
Climate Action Evanston is in the best interests of the Evanston community,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to sign, and
the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to attest on behalf of the City of Evanston,
an Agreement between the City and Climate Action Evanston.
SECTION 2: That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to negot iate
any terms of an Agreement as may be determined to be in the best interests of the City.
SECTION 3: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
