HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 58-O-26 Amending City Code Section 10-11-4(A) to Add One-Way Streets (1) (1) 58-O-26 AN ORDINANCE Amending City Code Section 10-11-4, Schedule IV(A), “One-Way Streets,” to Include Portions of Various Streets During District 65 School Drop-Off and Pick-Up Hours WHEREAS, the Evanston City Council determined that traffic directions of various streets in the District 65 School drop-off and pick-up zones do not adequately address the traffic and safety needs for residents in those districts; and WHEREAS, certain modifications to the City Code can help to address resident traffic and safety in those areas, and WHEREAS, the Evanston City Council finds that it is in the best interest of the City of Evanston to amend the traffic directions in these District 65 School areas; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: Schedule IV(A), “One-Way Streets,” of Section 10-11-4(A), of the Evanston City Code of 2012, as amended, is hereby further amended to include the following: Greenwood Street – Fowler Ave to McDaniel Ave during Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Literary and Fine Arts School drop-off and pick-up hours West Only McDaniel Ave – Greenwood Street to Dempster Street during Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Literary and Fine Arts School drop-off and pick-up hours South Only SECTION 2: The findings and recitals contained herein are declared to be prima facie evidence of the law of the City and shall be received in evidence as provided by the Illinois Compiled Statues and the courts of the State of Illinois. 08/24/2026 Page 1 of 2 SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4: This ordinance will be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law. SECTION 5: If any provision of this ordinance or application thereof to any person or circumstance is ruled unconstitutional or otherwise invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications, and each invalid provision or invalid application of this ordinance is severable.
