Subject: Geometry in Construction House Move Indemnification Agreement -
Vertical Works
Date: July 17, 2026
The Community Development Department seeks your signature to execute the attached
agreement between Vertical Works and the City of Evanston, in advance of the 2026 Geometry
in Construction house move on Monday, August 3, 2026. Vertical Works is hired by Evanston
Township High School to perform the house move, and this agreement releases the City from
liability and holds Vertical Works responsible for damage to the public way.
Through collaboration with the Law Department and the Capital Planning Bureau, the
agreement for this year ’s move includes additional language, increasing the City’s protections.
With your signature, the Department will share the executed contract with Vertical Works.
