A RESOLUTION
Authorizing the City Clerk to Sign an Illinois Department of
Transportation Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) Resolution for Improvement
under the fi nois Highway Code for Pavement Condition Evaluation
Project
WHEREAS, in order to facilitate the free flow of traffic and ensure safety to
the motoring public, the City of Evanston and the Illinois Department of Transportation
("IDOT"), desire to enter into an Illinois Department of Transportation Resolution for
Improvement Under the Illinois Highway Code, a copy of which is attached hereto and
incorporated herein as Exhibit 1, for Pavement Condition Evaluation Engineering services
for the City Streets; and
WHEREAS, said Pavement Condition Evaluation Engineering services
include a street surface condition survey (cracking, rut, roughness & macro texture) of
all City streets; a non-destructive roadway base and sub grade conditions assessment;
an evaluation of appropriate pavement rehabilitation strategies for different types
roadways such as major streets, collectors & neighborhood streets; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City Clerk to execute the IDOT
Resolution for Improvement Under the Illinois Highway Code, allocating a portion of the
City's Eight Two Thousand Five Hundred Ninety Two Dollars ($82,592.00) in the MFT
Funds to pay for said Project; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the best interests
of the City to execute the aforementioned resolution for City wide Street Analysis,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: The City Clerk is hereby authorized to sign the Resolution for
Improvement under the Illinois Highway Code between the City of Evanston and IDOT,
attached hereto as Exhibit 1.
SECTION 2: The City Manager is also authorized and directed to
negotiate any additional conditions with [DOT for this project using the City's Motor
Fuel Tax Funds.
SECTION 3: That this Resolution 29-R-24 shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
