STAFF REPORTS A. 2012 Preservation and Design Awards - Update 5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 6. NEW BUSINESS A. 720 Central Street (L) - Demolition of existing garage and surrounding concrete. Construction of a new wood frame detached 3-car garage 40' length x 23' depth x 17'-6" height (mean) and setback 3' from the south and east property lines. Required setback for each of the two dormers from the exterior wall on the front elevation = 8'. Proposed setback = 5'- 7.5". Minor zoning variance required. [Construction/ Demolition/Zoning Variance] B. 1940 Orrington Avenue (NEHD/C) - Demolish existing 1-car detached garage; construct new 2-car detached wood frame (22' x 20') garage. [Construction/ Demolition] C. 630 Dartmouth Place (NEHD/C) — Repoint brick, remove and reinstall slate roof, remove all slate at west elevation dormers and replace with new copper flashing, replace flat roofs at bay window in copper, replace wood trim in kind to match. Replace second floor window to the fire escape with casement sash. Replaced third floor casement sash (not original or in poor condition) with metal clad wood casement. Place new storm windows on the double hung windows. Repair front door, screen door, rear French doors and wood side door. [Alteration] D. 614 Clark Street (L) - Rebuild a 3-story rear porch and stairs. Enclose stairway and finish it with exterior siding. Replace the existing decorative columns on the 3rd floor with classic style columns. Rebuild the 1 st & 2nd floor piers; restore cornice. [Alteration/Demolition] E. 1217 Hinman (LSHD) - Remove existing wood stairs on the rear east elevation and construct new wood open porch with stairs. Also replace aluminum siding at rear of 1 of 2 home with stucco; replace 18 steel casement windows with aluminum clad windows; remove existing front door and replace it with new window, remove front stairs, relocating entry to existing porch on south elevation; add new front door on south porch. [Alteration/Demolition] F. 726 University Place (Lot of Record Landmark) - Rehab for existing 3-story dormitory building at 726 University Place. Addition of accessible patio and ramp at north fagade. Addition of exit stairs at the east and west facades; removal of east fire escape; installation of bike rack and paving at south fagade. [Alteration/Construction/Demolition] G. 1139 Ridge (RHD) —Demolish existing 2-level deck. Construct anew 2-level wood frame deck at the rear east elevation of the house. [Construction/Demolition] H. 1012 Lake Street (L/RHD) - Construction of an accessible wood ramp (approximately 38 feet long) on the west elevation of the building at 1012 Lake Street. The project calls for removing an existing window and installing in the same opening an entrance door for the ramp. [Alteration/Construction] 7. COMMUNICATIONS 8.
