HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 6-O-26 Amending City Code Section 10-11-18 _Residents Parking Only Districts_ (1) (1)1/26/2026 6-O-2 AN ORDINANCE Amending Schedule XVIII (F)(1) of City Code Section 10-11-18, “Schedule XVIII; Residents Parking Only Districts” WHEREAS, the Evanston City Council determined that parking within certain parts of the “residents parking only” districts is difficult for residents in those districts; and WHEREAS, certain modifications to the City Code can help to address the residents’ concerns in those areas, and WHEREAS, the Evanston City Council finds that it is in the best interest of the City of Evanston or amend the parking restrictions in these areas; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: Schedule XVIII (F)(1) of City Code Subsection 10-11-18, “Schedule XVIII; Residents Parking Only Districts” of the Evanston City Code of 2012, as amended, is hereby further amended as follows: 10-11-18. – SCHEDULE XVIII (F)(1); RESIDENTS PARKING ONLY PARKING. THOSE RESIDENTS HAVING A LEGAL ADDRESS ON THE STREETS OR PORTIONS OF STREETS LISTED ABOVE. 2. THOSE RESIDENTS HAVING A LEGAL ADDRESS ON THE 1600, 1700 AND 1800 BLOCKS OF CENTRAL STREET THAT HAVE NOT PREVIOUSLY BEEN DESIGNATED AS TRANSIT ORIENTED PROPERTY. 3. THOSE RESIDENTS HAVING A LEGAL ADDRESS ON THE 2700 BLOCK OF HAMPTON PARKWAY. 4. THOSE RESIDENTS HAVING A LEGAL ADDRESS ON THE 1300 BLOCK OF ISABELLA AVENUE. SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 3: If any provision of this Ordinance 6-O-26 or application thereof to any person or circumstance is held unconstitutional or otherwise invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of this Ordinance that can be given effect without the invalid application or provision, and each invalid application of this Ordinance is severable. SECTION 4: Ordinance 6-O-26 shall be in full force and effect after its passage and approval. Page 3 of 4 6-O-26 SECTION 5: The findings and recitals contained herein are declared to be prima facie evidence of the law of the City and shall be received in evidence as provided by the Illinois Compiled Statutes and the courts of the State of Illinois.
