(189 Gordon St., Elk Grove Village, IL) for the Twiggs Park Playground Improvement Project (Bid 25-34) in the amount of $636,000. Funding Source: Funding is provided from the Capital Improvement Fund 2025 Project Bonds in the amount of $513,623.00, from Community Development Block Grant funds (CDBG) in the amount of $106,623.00, and from Community Development Block Grant CARES Act funds (CDBG-CV) in the amount of $15,754.00. A detailed summary is included in the attached memo. CARP: Urban Canopy & Green Space Council Action: For Action Summary: Twiggs Park is a 13.2-acre park located south of the North Shore Channel between Bridge Street and Green Bay Road. The park features a variety of amenities, including an age 2-5 playground, an age 5-12 playground, a basketball court, a skate park, a community garden, a gazebo, and a multi-use trail. The Twiggs Park Playground Improvement Project includes the reconstruction of the park’s existing playgrounds for ages 2-5 and 5-12 within their existing footprint. Each of these existing playgrounds is approximately 30 years old and well beyond its useful life.
