Home My WebLink About69-O-24 Amending City Code Section 10-11-12 “Parking Meter Zones” Section XII(J) – Electric Vehicle Charging Stations9/7/24 69-O-24 AN ORDINANCE Amending City Code Section 10-11-12 “Parking Meter Zones” Section XII(J) – Electronic Vehicle Charging Stations NOW BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, THAT: SECTION 1: City Code Section 10-11-12 “Parking Meter Zones”, Section XII(J) of the Evanston City Code of 2012, as amended, is hereby further amended to read as follows: (J) Three (3) hour maximum parking limit at the rate of one dollar ($1.00) $0.25 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for parking and use of the City's electric vehicle charging stations, with an overuse charge of $5.00 accruing for every five (5) minutes past the three hour limit. Use of the City’s electric vehicle charging parking spots may only be used by electric vehicles or plug-in hybrids. All non-electric vehicles will be charged a $100 dollar fine and be subject to tow: between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sundays: SECTION 2: The findings and recitals contained herein are declared to be prima facie evidence of the law of the City and shall be received in evidence as provided by the Illinois Compiled Statutes and the courts of the State of Illinois. SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4: That this Ordinance 69-O-24 shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law. SECTION 5: If any provision of this Ordinance or application thereof to any person or circumstance is held unconstitutional or otherwise invalid, such invalidity Page 4 of 5 Doc ID: 515f1e492a8608e133c33c9b81389a5bebe6661f 69-O-24 shall not affect other provisions or applications of this Ordinance that can be given effect without the invalid application or provision, and each invalid application of this Ordinance is severable.
