MORTON CIVIC CENTER COUNCIL CHAMBERS Monday, July 23, 2012 Administration & Public Works (A&PW) Committee meets at 5:45 p.m. Planning & Development (P&D) Committee meets at 7:15 p.m. City Council meeting convenes immediately after the conclusion of the P&D Committee meeting ORDER OF BUSINESS (I) Roll Call – Begin with Alderman Rainey (II) Mayor Public Announcements Presentation by Citizens’ Greener Evanston Evanston Preservation Commission: 2012 Preservation and Design Awards (III) City Manager Public Announcements (IV) Communications: City Clerk (V) Citizen Comment Resident inquired regarding why a third vehicle is being requested in agenda item 3.2 Resident states that City Council members should pay full amount for health insurance and that money should not be lent to private businesses Attorney of residents argues Kendall matter is within jurisdiction of the City Council Two residents oppose removal of trees at Kendall Resident dissatisfied with lack of announcement regarding NEA grant Resident would like handicap access to Fleetwoord Jourdain o Ald. Rainey requested report from staff regarding this matter Resident asks rehab at NSP2 property at 1509 Emerson to conform with existing city rules. Fiske congratulates recipients of preservation awards and Northwestern University, hopes that Roycemore School will become a recipient as well next year Ald. Braithwaite wishes happy birthday to Ald Grover and Ald. Burrus, thanks Safeway for donation for Grandmother Park. The August Ward meeting will be cancelled. Ald. Wilson encourages everyone to participate in the Run for Walk at Ryan Field this Sunday Ald. Grover reminds residents to attend pedestrian safety presentation Tuesday night Ald.
