WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston
has heretofore determined that it is necessary, convenient,
• desirable, and in the public interest to relocate and improve
Emersion Street in the City of Evanston across the North
Shore Channel, and
WiiEiiBM, plans for said relocation and improvement have
heretofore been approved by the City of Evanston and are on
file in the Department of Public Works of the City, and
WHEREASO it is now necessary and desirable to acquire
the real property necessary for said relocation and improve-
ment;
THRRIMME, HE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the
City of Evanston,, Cook County, Illinois, that:
1. In connection with the relocation and improvement
of Emerson Street over the North Shore Channel in the City
of Evanston, it is necessary, convenient, desirable, and in
• the public interest to acquire the following described real
property:
Tract 1
That part of Lots 22 and 23 in McCormick Park
Subdivision of Lots 3 and 4 in Circuit Court
Partition of the Northwest Quarter of the North-
west Quarter of Section 13, Township 41 North,
Range 13 Bast of the Third Principal Meridian,
in Cook County, Illinois, lying Southerly of a
line described as beginning in the East line of
Lot 22 aforesaid, 17 feet forth of the Southeast
corner thereof and extended Northwesterly to the
Went line of Lot 23 aforesaid, 28.00 feet North
• of the Southwest corner thereof.
Tract 2
Lots 24 and 2 in McCormick Park Subdivision of
Lots 3 and 4 texcept right of May of Sanitary
District Canal) of Circuit Court Partition of
the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter
of Section 13, Township 41 North, Range 13 East
of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County,

Lots 26 and in McCormick Park Subdivision of
Lobs 3 and 41except right of Nay of Sanitary
District Canal) of Circuit Court Partition of
• the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter
of Section 13, Township 41 North, Range 13 East
of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County,
Illinois.
Tract 4
That part of the Metropolitan Sanitary District
of Greater Chicago lands in the Northwest Quarter
of Section 13 and in the Northeast Quarter of
Section 14, Township 41 North, Range 13 East of
the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County,
Illinois, lying West of McCormick Park Subdivision
of Lots 3 and 4 in Circuit Court Partition of -Sec-
tion 13 aforesaid, East of the 100 foot Right -of -
Way of McCormick Road in Section 14 aforesaid and
South of a line described as beginning in the North-
westerly line of Lot 27 In aforesaid Subdivision,
30 feet Southwesterly from the Northwest corner
thereof; thence extended Northwesterly to the 3outh-
easterly 100 feet Right -of -Way line of McCormick
Road at a point 103 feet Northeasterly frov the
center line of existing Emerson Street, (excepting
therefrom a strip lying Northerly of fterson Street
and Southerly of a line described as beginning in
the North line of said Street at a point 140 feet West
of the Southwest corner of Lot- 27 aforesaid; thence
• extended Westerly to a point in said North line 140
feet Southeasterly from the 100 foot Right -of -Way

2. Title to and possession of said real property
specifically described in Section 1 of this Ordinance *ball
be acquired by the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois,
• and Joseph L. Dose, Director of Public Works of the City is
authorised, empowered and directed to negotiate for and in
behalf of the City of Evanston with the owner or owners of
and party or parties interested in said real property for
the purpose of agreeing as to the compensation to be paid
for or in respect of said real property.
3. ]h the event that the compensation to be paid for
or in respect of said real property to be acquired for said
purposes cannot be agreed upon in such aegotiatioms, the
Director of Public Works of the City of Evanston is hereby
authorized on behalf of the City of Evanston to take all
necessary steps to have condemnation proceedings instituted
for the acquisition of said real property pursuant to the
• law of Eniuent Domain.
4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force from and after its passage.
