HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-O-593-0-59 AN ORDINANCE AUthorizing Conveyance of Certain Real Estate WHEREAS, underdate of December 22, 1947, the City Council did authorize the acwuisition of certain vacant property located on the northeast corner of Simpson Street and Bennett Avenue within the City of Evanston, to be used as a tot lot; `said property being legally described as follows: Lots 13, 14 and 15 in Subdivision of Lots 1 to 17 both inclusive, together with the vacated r alley in Block 5 in A. McDaniel's Addition to Evanston, being a Subdivision of that portion of the Southeast quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section 11, Township 41 North, Range 13 East of the Third Principal Meridian, lying South of Ewing Addition and West of County Road in Cook County, Illinois, and WHEREAS, under date of October 20, 1 948 in and about the negotiations for the acquisition of the aforesaid property the city did agree to Seel to one ROBERT L. KRILL of. 2111 Bennett Avenue, Evanston, Illinois, the north 10 feet of Lot 15 of the aforesaid property, on which date the said ROBERT L. KRILL did pay the sum of $750 - and WHEREAS, under -date of September 26, 1955 title to all the aforesaid property was acquired by the City of Evanston by deed recorded in the office of the Recorder of Deeds as Document 16459204 in Book 53061 at Page 5; and WHEREAS, numerous liens and other defects against the title to said property, including the lien of gneral taxes and special assessments had to be cleared since title to said property was acquired by the City of Evanston, and the city is now in possession of Guarantee Police 44-57-277 of Chicago Title and Trust Company, indicating that title to said property. is now vested in the City of Evanston, a municipal corporation, free and clear of the aforesaid liens and other defects. 050 NOW THEREFORE,) BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the Gity'convey to ROBERT L. KRILL by Quit Claim Deed without warranty or representation, all of its right, title and interest in and to the following described property: The North ten (10) feet of Lot 15 in Sub- division of Lots 1 to 17 both inclusive, together with the vacated alley in Block 5 in .A. McDaniel's addition to Evanston, being a Subdivision of that portion of the South- east quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section 112 Township 41 North; Range 13 East of the Third Principal Meridian, lying south of Ewing Addition and west. of County Road in Cook County, Illinois. SECTION 2:: The Mayor and the City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute said Quit Claim Deed and affix the seal of the City of Evanston thereto, and deliver said Deed to the said ROBERT L, KRILL in compliance with and in full satisfaction of the aforesaid agreement. SECTION_3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after ,its passage and approval, according to law. INTRODUCED February 2, 1959 ADOPTED February 9, 1959 ATTEST: Maurice F.
