7-0-61 AN ORDINANCE providing for the submission to the voters of the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois, the proposition of issuing $390,000 Municipal Building Bonds at a special election to be held in and • for said City on the 4th day of April , 1961. WHEREAS it is deemed advisable, necessary and for the 3 beat interests of the City of Evanston, in order to provide proper space for the Municipal Court of the City, and to properly die - charge the duties imposed by the City by law, that additional space be provided for said Municipal Court and auxiliary uses, and for that purpose to acquire a site and build and equip a new municipal building, such new building to be located at 1502-1 191mwood Avenue, in the City of Evanston, Illinois; and t WHEREAS it has heretofore been estimated and it io hereby estimated that it will cost not less than $390,000 to ac- quire the site and equip a new building thereon for said purpose; and WHEREAS there are not sufficient funds on hand available for that purpose and it will be necessary to borrow money and in evidence thereof issue bonds of said City; and WHEId.AS before bonds can be issued for said purpose t above mentioned it will be necessary that the proposition to issue said bonds be submitted to the electors of said City and approved ,..by a majority of the voters voting on said question at a special election called and held for that purpose, and it is deemed ad- visable and in the interests of said City that the proposition to issue said bonds be submitted to the voters at a special city oleo; tion to be held in and for said City on Tuesday , the 4th day of April 1961; • At 'lam THErvsor,, Be It and It Is Hereby Ordained by the City Council of the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois, as fol lowh : 0 i Section 1. That there be borrowed by and for and on be- half of said City the sum of $390,000 for the purpose of paying • the cost of acquiring a site for and constructing and equipping a new municipal building for the Municipal Court of said City and auxili.ary uses, and that to evidence said loan negotiable bonds of said City be issued, and that said bonds be designated "Municipal Building Bonds", be three hundred ninety (390) in number, numbered from 1 to'390, inclusive, be of the denomination of $1,000 each, and mature serially $I0,000 on December 1, 1962, $15,000 on Decem- ber 1, 1963, $25,000 on December 1, 1964, $30,040 on December 1, 1965, $400000 on December 1 of each of the years 1966 to 1968, inclusive, $45,000 on December 1 of each of the years 1969 and 1970, and $100,000 on December 1, 1971, and bear interest at the rate of not to exceed five per cent (5%) per annum,'payable semi- annually. Section 2. That the question of issuing said bonds of • said City, as hereinabove described in Section 1 hereof, be sub- mitted to the legal voters of said City at a special election which is hereby called to be held in and for said City on Tuesday , the 4th day of April , 1961, between the hours of 6:00 o'clock A.M. and 6:00 o'clock P.M. of said day. That the City Clerk of said City be and is hereby ordered and directed to cause notice of said election to be given by publishing notice thereof in the Evanston Review , • the same being a newspaper published and having a general circula- tion within said City. The date of publication of such notice shall be not more than thirty days nor less than fifteen days prior to the date set for said election, and said notice as published shall be in substantially the following form: NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION TO VOTE UPON THE PROPOSITION OF ISSU- ING $390,000 MUNICIPAL BUILDING BONDS OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a special election has been called and will be held in and for said City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois, on Tuesday , the 4th day of • April 1961, at which election there will be submitted to the voters of said City the following question: • Shall bonds in the amount of $390,000 be issued by the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois, for the purpose of paying the cost of acquiring a site for and constructing and equipping a new municipal building for the Municipal Court of said City and for auxiliary uses, to mature serially.$10,000 on December 1, 1962, $15,000 on December 1, 1963, $25,000 on December 1, 1964, $30,000 on December 1, 1965, $40,000 on December 1 of each of the years 1966 to 1968, inclusive, a $45,000 on December 1 of each of the years 1969 and 1970, and $100,000 on December 10 1971, and bear interest at the rate of not to exceed five per cent (5%) per annum?
