AN ORDINANCE
Regulating the Parking of Motor
Vehicles in Parking Validation Lots
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY (30UNC IL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That there be added to Article V
Regulating the Parking of Motor
Vehicles, a new division to be known as division A and adding
sections 27-125.1 to 27-125.5 inclusive, which shall read as
follows:
Section 27-125.1: The following described areas are
hereby designated. as PARKING VALIDATION LOTS for the parking
• of passenger motor vehicles:
Lots 5 and 13.- contiguous to Grove.Street,
Sherman Avenue and Davis Street,
Lot 12 - contiguous to Clark Street, Sherman
Avenue and Jenson Avenue,
Lot 2e at the northeast corner of Church Street
and Chicago Avenue.
Section 2i-125.2: Any individual operating a passenger
motor vehicle may park same within said areas described in
Section 27-125.1 at the rate of 50, for each one-half hour or
fraction thereof for the first three (3) hours of continuous

parking, and 254� per hour or fraction thereof for each and
every hour of continuous parking thereafter. In lieu of said
cash payment, any -such person may tender in payment thereof
sufficient official Parking Validation Stamps issued by the
City of .Evanston in the denomination and at the rates herein -
set forth, for the first three (3) hours of continuous
parking only.
Section 27-125.3: The length of time that said
passenger motor vehicle is parked in said area shall be
determined by a ticket properly stamped by the attendant
or mechanism located at the entrance to said parking aree,
and delivered to the operator of said motor vehicle, and
upon leaving the parking area said ticket so stamped shall
be surrendered to the parking area attendant and payment made
of the parking charges as provided in Section 27-125.2. In
the event that said parking ticket is lost, misplaced or the
operator of said vehicle fails to surrender same at the time

he leaves said parking area, a minimum charge of Otr@@@ in
cash shall be paid by the operator of said vehicle.
Section 27-125.4: It shall be unlawful for the
operator of any motor vehicle by any scheme or device, either
singly or in collusion with others, to fail, refuse or

neglect to pay the parking charges to the attendant in
charge thereof before leaving the parking area, either in
sufficient amount of Parking Validation Stamps as herein
provided or coin of the United States.
Section .27-125.5: Any person who shall violate or
cause or consent to a violation of this ordinance, or by
any scheme or device, either singly or in collusion with
others vi®late the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon
conviction be punished by a fine of not less than $5.00
nor more than $200.00.
