AN ORDINANCE
Amending Section 27-83.0 (e) of
the Code of the City of Evanston
1957, as amende-6, Restricting the
Standing and Parking of Pr otor Vehicles
on the Forth side, '700 Block of Reba Place.
BE IT ORDAINED 3Y THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANTSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLIHOIS,
SECTION 1° That Section 27-83.3 (e) of the
Code of the City of Evanston, 1957,
as amended, be and the same is further amended by adding to those
streets or portions of streets upon which parking shall be prohibited
at certain times only,
• Reba Place - north side - in front of Tot Lot in 700
block - No Parking between the hours of
9.00 A.H",. and 9.00 P JIi. on any day.
SECTION 2° All ordinances or parts of or-
dinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3! This ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after
its passage, aprroval and publication, according to law.

AN ORDINANCE
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A LOCAL IMPROVEMENT
(known as)
(EVANSTON SPECIAL ASSESSMENT NO. 1282 )
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That a local improvement shall be made within the City of Evanston, County of Cook and
State of Illinois, the nature, character, locality and description of which is as follows, to -wit,
That the roadways of the public alleys in the Block bounded
on the north by Livingston Street, on the south by Chancellor
Street, on the east by Eastwood Avenue and on the west by
Broadway Avenue, in the City of Evanston, County of Cook and
State of Illinois, be improved by grading, paving to a width
of sixteen (16) feet with a Portland Cement Concrete pavement
eight (8) inches thick, and constructing necessary storm
sewers And drainage structures;
Section 2. That the Recommendation of this Ordinance by the Board of Local Improvements of
the City of Evanston, Illinois, and the Estimate of the cost of said improvement made by the Engineer
of said Board, both hereto attached, be and the same are hereby approved and by reference thereto
made a part hereof; and that the attached Plans and Specifications of said improvement are also hereby
approved and by reference thereto made a part hereof;
Section 3. That said improvement shall be made and the cost thereof, including the sum of -
One Thousand, Seven Hundred and no/100 ($1, 700.00) Dollars, being the
costs of making and collecting the Assessment and all other expenses as provided by law, shall be paid for
by Special Assessment in accordance with an Act of the General Assembly of the State of Illinois, known
as the "Revised Cities and Villages Act," approved August 15, 1941, and the Amendments thereto;
Section 4. That the aggregate amount to be assessed and each individual assessment shall be divided
into___-_tecl--- .1_0_).---------------- installments in the manner provided by law, and each of said installments
shall bear interest at the rate of -------- siX----- per centum _ per annum from the date of the first
voucher issued on account of work done upon said proposed improvement;
Section 5. That for the purpose of anticipating the collection of the installments of said assessment
levied against the real estate benefited thereby, bonds shall be issued payable out of said installments,

and signed by the Mayor of the City of Evanston, Illinois, and the City Clerk of said City, and attested by

the corporate seal of said City; and that said bonds shall be issued in accordance with and shall in all respects
conform to the provisions of an At't of the General Assembly of the State of Illinois, known as the "Revised
Cities and Villages Act", approved August 15, 1941, and the Amendments thereto;

Section 7. That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances conflicting with this Ordinance be and the same
are hereby repealed; and
Section 8. That this Ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage and approval
according to law.

RECOMMENDATION OF THE BOARD OF LOCAL IMPROVEMENTS
To THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, ILLINOIS.
The Board of Load Improvements of the City of Evanston, Illinois, herewith submits the draft of an
Ordinance for the making of a local improvement *ithin the City of Evanston, County of Cook and State of
Illinois, the nature, character, locality and description of which is as follows, to -wit:
That the roadways of the public alleys in the Block bbunded
on the north by Livingston Street, on the south by Chancellor
Street, on the east by Eastwood Avenue and on the west by
Broadway Avenue, in the City of Evanston, County of Cook and
State of 111inois, be improved bar grading, paving to a width

Dobson Street from Hartrey Avenue to Dodge Avenue, Grey
Avenue from Howard Street to the Chicago and North Shore
Railroad Right of Way and Brown Avenue, Richmond Avenue
and Hartrey Avenue from Bummel Street to the Chicago and
North Shore Railroad Right of Way, in the City of Evanston,
County of Cook and State of Illinois, be improved by
installing a mercury vapor street lighting system;
Section 2. That the Recommendation of this Ordinance by the Board of Local Improvements of
the City of Evanston, Illinois, and the Estimate ' of the cost of said improvement made by the Engineer
of said Board, both hereto attached, be and the same are hereby approved and by reference thereto
made a part hereof; and that the attached Plans and Specifications of said improvement are also hereby

INTERDEPARTMENTAL MEMORANDUM
December 13, 1961

Re.- Municipal Service Occupation Tax Ordinance
In accordance with your request, I am attaching
hereto sufficient copies of proposed ordinance 50-0-61 imposing
a municipal service occupation tax. This was originally prepared
for adoption in July of 1961.
I have made the necessary changes to make it
effective January 1, 1962. Please note the following,-
1. To be effective January 1, 1962 the ordinance must
be introdu,,ed and adopted at the Council Meeting
of December 18,1961. This will require a sus-
pension of the council rules.
• 2. It must be published in the Evanston Review on
Thursday„ December 21, 1961 without fail, inasmuch
as ten days must elapse from the publication date
in order to make it affective on January 1, 1962.
3. The City Clerk must transmit a certified copy to
the State Department of Revenue not later than
five days after the effective date of the ordinance.
