AN ORDINANCE
Amending the Evanston Zoning
Ordinance adopted November 21,1960
WHEREAS, the City Council referred to the Zoning Amendment
Committee, a petition from Mr.Traugott Rohner to rezone property at
823 Foster Street from R4 General Residence to B2 Business District
and for consideration of rezoning of any or all of the following
properties from their present district classifications to R4, R5,
or R6 General Residence District or B2 Business or C2 Commercial
District classifications: Lots 8 to 18 inclusive in Block 2
P.JudsonQs Subdivision; Lots 1 to 5 inclusive in Paul Pratt?s
• Addition; Lots 18 to 20 inclusive in Huse and Powerts Addition; the
south 1/2 of lot 15 and all of lots 16 to 18 inclusive in Block 2,
Paul Pratt?s Second Addition; and Lots 1 to 4 inclusive and lots
44 to 48 inclusive in J.B.HobbQs Subdivision; and
WHEREAS, after public hearing in accordance with the pro-
visions of the zoning ordinance, the Zoning Amendment Committee has
made certain recommendations to amend said zoning ordinance:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY,ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the Evanston Zoning Ordinance
dated November 2111960 and the official
district map being a part of said Evanston Zoning Ordinance, be
amended so as to provide as follows:

1. All properties and portions of properties lying within the
0 area bounded by Foster St., Maple Ave., the first east -west
alley north of Foster Street and the first north -south alley
west of Sherman Ave.which are now zoned R4 General Residence,
except the south 100 feet of properties known as 819 and 823
Foster Street (lots 8 and 9), be rezoned to a B2 Business
District.
2. The south 100 feet of properties known as 819 and 823 Foster
Street (lots 8 and 9 in Block 2, P.Judson?s Subdivision) be
rezoned from the R4 General Residence to a R6 General Resi-
dence District and the south 100 feet of property known as 825
Foster St. (the east 1/2 of lot 10 in Block 2, P.Judson?s Sub-
division) be rezoned from the B2 Business to a R6 General Resi-
dence District.
3. Properties known as 814, 816, 820, 822 and 824 Foster St. ex-
• tending south to Garnett Place and including the properties
known as 815-825 Garnett Place (lots 18 to 20 inclusive in
Huse and Powers Addition and lot 1 and the east 32 feet�of
lot 2 in Paul Pratt?s Addition) be rezoned from the C2 Commer-
cial District to a R6 General Residence District.
4. Property known as 1009 Garnett Place (lot 44 in J.B.Hobb's
Subdivision) be rezoned from the B2 Business District to a R5
General Residence District.
5. Properties known as 1004, 1006, 1008 Foster St.(Tots 2,3 and
4 in J.B.Hobb?s Subdivision) be rezoned from the B2 Business
District to a R4 General Residence District.
6. Properties at 2006, 20101 2012 Maple Ave. (lots 16, 17 and the
south 1/2 of lot 15 in Paul Pratt?s Second Addition) be rezoned
from the B2 Business District to a R4 General Residence Dis-
trict.

SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication, according to law.
