HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1961-001-O-61007 • 2 1-0-61 AN ORDINANCE Establishing the Salaries of Certain Elected Officials WHEREAS, a Regular Municipal Election will be held April 4, 1961 for the purpose of electing a Mayor, City Clerk and City Treasurer; and ':'HL'REAS, on said date certain townchip officials will also be elected, to-�--it: Township Supervisor and Township Assessor; and /H�gEAS, in accordance with Section 2-93'� of the Code of the City o1: Evanston, 1957, it is provided that the City Treasurer shall act as iownship Collector of the Town of the • City of Evanston, said offices being united in the same person; and .,IJNER�i�S, Sections 409 and 411 of Chapter 23 of the Ill. Revised Statutes, 1959 provides that the Township Supervisor may serve as the ex-officio Supervisor of General Fssistance, and said offices are united in the same person in the Town of the City of Evanston. NOW THEREFORE, 3E I1 AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 'EVA.NSTCN, COCK COUNTY, ILLINGIS: SECTION 1: That the compensation of the Mayor of the City of Evanston for the four year term, payable after election and qualification, and his successor has been chosen and has qualified, shall be 0 M, per annum salary, and %0tz' per annum expense allowance. SECTION 2:, That the compensation of the City Clerk of the City of Evanston for the four year term, payable after election and qualification and his successor has been chosen and has qualified, shall be $9000 per annum salary. SECTION 3: That the compensation of the City Treasurer of the City of Evanston for the four year term, payable after election and qualification, and his successor has been chosen and has qualified, shall be $6000 per annum salary, and his compensation as Town Collector of the Town of the City of Evanston, for the four year term, shall be $4000 per annum, payable from tax collection • commissions. SECTION 4: That the compensation of the Township Pssessor of the Town of the City of Evanston for the four year term, payable after election and qualification, and his successor has been chosen 1 co0 and has qualified, shall be. per annum salary, and $600 per annum transportation allowance. That a local improvement shall be made within the City of Evanston, Codrity of Cook and State of Illinois, the nature, character, locality and description of Which is as follows, to-wii: That the roadway of Hartrey Avenue from the north curb line of Greenwood Street to the south line of Lake Street, in the City of Evanston, County of Cook and State of Illinois, be improved by gradingg' constructing a combination concrete curb and gdtterg paving with a Waterbound Macadam Base and an Asphaltic Concrete Surface, installing necessary storm se'rers and drainage structures, adjusting present manholes, and valve vaults; Section 2.
