HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1962-023-O-62• 015 23-0-62 AN ORDINANCE Amending Sections 15 and 30 of the Sign, Canopy and Awning Regulations of the City of Evanston, Illinois, adopted August 4, 1958. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS- "' SECTION 1! That the following para- graphs, sections, and subsections of the Evanston Sign, Canopy and Awning Regulations, adopted August 4, 1958, as amended, be amended so that same • shall hereafter be and read as follows; 1. That paragraph (f) of Section 15 be amended so that same shall hereafter be and read as follows! (f) Plaques or tablets, denoting names of buildings and date of erection or when cut into any masonry surface (commonly known as cornerstones). 2. That paragraph (a) of Section 30 be amended so that same shall hereafter be and read as follows! (a) Fixed Canopy and Fixed Awning, as regu- lated by this ordinance, shall include any hood, canopy, or awning constructed of cloth, metal, or other incombustible material at- tached to a building, projecting over a public thoroughfare, and carried by a frame supported by the ground or sidewalk. 3. That paragraph (c) subsection (3) of Section 30 be amended so that same shall hereafter be and read as follows! • E di o (3) Width. No Fixed Canopy or Fixed Awning shall be wider than the entrance or entrances of the building from which it extends, plus five (5) feet on each side thereof, unless approved by the City Council. SECTION 2? All ordinances or parts of ordinances in con- flict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its passage, approval, and publication, according to law.
