BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: 01 61 7 SECTION 1: That the following para- graphs, subsections and sections of the Evanston Zoning Ordinance, adopted November 21, 1960, as amended, be amended so that the same shall hereafter be and read as follows: • 1.. That Section IV, Subsection K, Paragraph 3, be amended and read as follows: "In Residence and University Districts on streets where a setback greater than 27 ft. has been main- tained for existing buildings on lots having a frontage of 50% or more of the total frontage on one side of that portion of the streets, lying between two intersecting streets, there shall be maintained a front yard setback based on average setback of the forementioned existing buildings, provided that this regulation is not to be inter- preted to require a front yard setback of more than 50 ft. or less than 27 ft." 2. That Section IV, Subsection J. Paragraph 1, be amended by deleting the words "air conditioner". 3. That Section IV, Subsection K, be amended by adding a new Paragraph 5, which shall read as follows: 0 • 115. Air conditioning units using ten (10) pounds of refrigerants actuated by a motor of 1% H.P. or more shall not be permitted in any front yard or within ten (10) feet of any lot line.0 4. That Section X, Subsection B, Paragraph 8, be amended so that the same shall hereafter be and read as follows: "(a) Each required parking space shall open directly upon an aisle, a driveway, or public alley of such width and design as to provide safe and efficient means of vehicular access to such parking space at all times as shown in table of Appendix B adapted in part from Traffic Desiqn of Parkinq Garaqes of the Eno Foundation fdr Highway Traffic Control. All off-street parking spaces shall be provided with appropriate means of vehicular access to a street or alley in a manner which will least interfere with traffic movements as determined by the Traffic Engineer. No driveway to such parking spaces, across public property, shall have a width exceeding 25 feet exclusive of • curb returns." -2- • Q • (")66 SECTION 2s That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 3� This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication, according to law.
