AN ORDINANCE
Amending Article II, Section 15-7
"Wards and Precincts" of the Code
of the City of Evanston, 1957, as
Amended.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS3
SECTION 1; That Article II, Section
15-7 of the Code of the
City of Evanston, 1957, as amended, providing for the division of
the City into nine (9) wards, be and the same is hereby amended
so that same shall be and hereafter read as follows;
FIRST WARD. All that part of the city bounded and described as
follows; Commencing at a point being the center line
of Sherman Avenue and the center line of Noyes Street; thence east
along said center line of Noyes Street to the center line of Or-
rington Avenue; thence north along said center line at Orrington
Avenue to the center line of Lincoln Street; thence east along
said center line and the same produced of Lincoln Street to the
shore line of Lake Michigan; thence southerly along said shore line
to the center line produced at Hamilton Street; the west along
said center line and the same produced of Hamilton Street to the
center line of Forest Avenue; thence north along said center line
of Forest Avenue to the center line of Dempster Street; thence
west along said center line of Dempster Street to the center line
of the right-of-way of the Milwaukee Division of the Chicago and
North Western Railway Company; thence northerly along said center
line of said right-of-way to the center line of Davis Street;
thence east along said center line of Davis Street to the center
line of Benson Avenue; thence north along said center line of
Benson Avenue to the center line of University Place; thence east
along said center line of University Place to the center line of
Sherman Avenue; thence north along said center line of Sherman
Avenue to the point of beginning.

SECOND WARD. All that part of the city bounded and described as
follows- Commencing at a point being the west city
limits and the center line of Church Street; thence east on said
center line of Church Street to the center line of Dodge Avenue;
thence north on said center line of Dodge Avenue to the center line
of Emerson Street; thence east on said center line of Emerson
Street to the center line of the right-of-way of the Milwaukee
Division of the Chicago and North Western Railway Company; thence
southerly on said center line of said right-of-way to its inter-
section with the center line produced of University Place; thence
east on said center line and the same produced of University Place
to the center line of Benson Avenue; thence south along said center
line of Benson Avenue to the center line of Davis Street; thence
west along said center line of Davis Street to the center line of
the right-of-way of the Milwaukee Division of the Chicago and
North Western Railway Company; thence southerly along said center

line of Asbury Avenue; thence north along said center line of As-

• THIRD WARD. All that part of the city lying south of a line de-
scribed as follows° Commencing at a point being the
center line of Dempster Street and the center line of the right-of-
way of the Milwaukee Division of the Chicago and North Western
Railway Company; thence east along said center line of Dempster
Street to the center line of Forest Avenue; thence south along said
center line of Forest Avenue to the center line of Hamilton Street;
thence east along said center line and the same produced of Hamil-
ton Street to the shore line of Lake Michigan; thence southerly
along said shore line to the south city limits; thence west along
said south city limits south of Calvary Cemetery and the same pro-
duced to the center line of the right-of-way of the Milwaukee Divi-
sion of the Chicago and Milwaukee Railway Company; thence north
along said center line to said right-of-way to the point of be-
ginning.

line of Emerson Street; thence east along said center line of
Emerson Street to the center line of the right-of-way of the Mil-
waukee Division of the.Chicago and North Western Railway Company;
thence southeasterly along said center line of said right-of-way
to its intersection with the center line produced of University
Place as opened east of East Railroad Avenue; thence east along
said center line and the same produced of University Place to its
intersection with the center line of Sherman Avenue; thence north

Noyes Street; thence west along said center line of Noyes Street to
the center line of Maple Avenue; thence south along said center

to the center line of Leonard Place; thence west along said center
line of Leonard Place and the same produced to the center line of

North Western Railway Company; thence northwesterly along said
center line of said right-of-way to the center line of the north
shore channel of the Metropolitan Sanitary District; thence south-
westerly along said channel center line to the west city limits;
thence south along said west city limits to the point of beginning.
SIXTH WARD. All that part of the city lying westerly of a line
described as follows. Commencing at a point being the
north city limits and the center line of Walnut Avenue; thence
south along said center line of Walnut Avenue to the center line
of Central Street; thence west along said center line of Central
Street to the center line of Elm Avenue; thence southerly along
said center line of Elm Avenue to the center line of Pioneer Road;
thence south along said center line of Pioneer Road and the same
produced as opened north of Simpson Street to the center line of
the north shore channel of the Metropolitan Sanitary District;
thence southwesterly along said center line of said channel to the
west city limits.

SEVENTH WARD. All that part of the city bounded and described as
follows. Commencing at a point being the north city
limits and the center line of Walnut Avenue; thence south along
said center line of Walnut Avenue to the center line of Central
Street; thence west along said center line of Central Street to
the center line of Elm Avenue; thence southerly along said center
line of Elm Avenue to the center line of Pioneer Road; thence
south along said center line of Pioneer Road and the same produced
as opened north of Simpson Street to the center line of the north

along a line parallel to and 320 feet south of the center line of

Section 1. That a local improvement shall be made within the City of Evanston, County of Cook and
State of Illinois, the nature, character, locality and description of which is as follows, tp-wit:
That the roadways, of the public alleys in the block
bounded on the north. by Mulford Street,, can the south
by Case Street, can the east by Custer Avenue and on
the west by Elmwood Avenue, In. the City of Evanston#
County of Cook,y Mate of Illinois, be Improved by
grading* tonstrueting necesoary storm sever and drain-
age structures, and paving to a width of fifteen (15)

Section 2. That the Recommendation of this Ordinance by the Board of Local Improvements of
the City of Evanston, Illinois, and the Estimate of the cost of said improvement made by the Engineer
of said Board, both hereto attached, be and the same are hereby approved and by reference thereto
made a part hereof; and that the attached Plans and Specifications of said improvement are also hereby
approved and by reference thereto made a part hereof;
Section 3. That said improvement shall be made and the cost thereof, including the sum of

Section 4. That the aggregate amount to be assessed and each individual assessment shall be divided
