HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1963-029-O-63?95 29-0-63 AN ORDINANCE Amending the Evanston Zoning Ordinance, Adopted November 21, 1960 1 WHEREAS,,the City Council referred to the Zoning'Amendment Committee a petition for consideration of a change in zoning of properties fronting on both sides of Asbury Avenue from Mulford Street on the north to Dobson Street on the south; and WHEREAS, after public hearing in accordance with the pro- visions of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Evanston, the Zoning Amendment Committee has recommended a change in the zoning of said area from B2 Business District to R5 General Residence District north of the Chicago, North Shore and Milwaukee Railroad and R6 • General Residence District south of the Chicago, North Shore and Milwaukee Railroad to Dobson Street.. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the recommendation of the 'Zoning Amendment Committee is hereby confirmed and the Evanston Zoning Ordinance, as adopted November 21, 1960 and the Official Map being a part of said Evanston Zoning Ordinance, be amended so as to provide as follows: The properties fronting on the west side of Asbury Avenue from the center line of Mulford Street to the center line of the right-of-way of the Chicago, North Shore and Milwaukee Railroad, and the properties 0 �9� fronting on the east side of Asbury Avenue from the north line of Lot 5, Block 2, Evanston Heights Subdivision, to the center line of the right-of- way of the Chicago, North Shore and Milwaukee Railroad, be and the same are hereby zoned R5 General Residence District, and the properties fronting'on both sides of Asbury Avenue south of the center line of the Chicago, North Shore and i Milwaukee Railroad right-of-way to the center line and the same produced east of Dobson Street, be and the same are hereby zoned R6 General Residence, all in accordance with the findings and recommendations of the Zoning Amendment Committee. SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in con - flict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect I from and after its passage, approval and publication, according to law.
