AN ORDINANCE
To ACquire Certain Property for
Park Purposes
WHEREAS, the City of Evanston has been authorized by law
to acquire sites. -buildings and facil,iti*s for park purposes;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that It is
necessary and convenient to acquire the real estate, hereinafter
described, for park purposest
NOW, THEREFORE, , SE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EV ANSTON , COOK COUNTY, I LLINOI S z
SECTION 1: It is hereby determined
that it Is necessary,
convenient and desirable for the City of Evanston to lay out
and establish a public perk in the City of Evanston on the
property hereinafter described.
SECTION 2s It is hereby determined
that it is necessary,
convenient and desirable for the City of Evanston to acquire
title to and possession of the following described real estate
in the City of Evanston, County of Cook, and State of Illinois,
to -wit;
North 214.5 feet of the West 409.2 feet of the
East 739.2 feet of the Southeast quarter,
Northeast quarter Section 25, Township 41 North,
Range 134 East of the Third Principal Meridian,
which real property is necessary, convenient and desirable for
park purposes.

SECTION 3s That the Director of Pub114
Works of the City of
Evanston. be and he is hereby authorized, empowered and directed,
to negotiate for and on behalf of the City of Evanston with the
owner or owners of tho real property herein described for the
purchase thereof by the City'of Evanston, and In the event that
the Director of public Works is unable to agree with the *Wnor
of said real property upon the compensation to be paid therefor,
the Corporation Counsel of "the City cif'Evanston is authorized,
empowered and directed to cause condemnation proceedings to be
instituted for the purpose of acquiring for the City of Evanston
title to and possession of the real property specifically dow-
scribed in this ordinance, in accordance with the eminent domain
laws of the State of Illinois.
SECTION 41 This ordinance shall be in
full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
